Background to Vepple
Revolution Viewing produced it's first univeristy Virtual Tour in 2006 - a collection of 360s brought together, it was delivered on 5000 CD-roms. We've come on a long way in the 15 years since, delivering 50+ bespoke virtual experiences for UK universities, cementing ourselves as leaders and experts in the sector. Vepple is the product of this experience, combined with the findings of a primary research programme which validated our belief that there was a 'perfect' way to showcase a university online.
Over the past five years we've undertaken eight primary research studies to understand what prospective students want from rich media solutions as part of the student recruitment cycle.
In 2018, a series of focus groups and online surveys highlighted the need for virtual experience solutions in the minds of prospective students. Building on this in 2020 following the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we ran a dedicated research programme looking to establish what prospective students wanted from a virtual experience platform. This, combined with our experience of delivering more than 50 bespoke university virtual tours formed the basis of Vepple.
